Vista Beta 2 on Toshiba Portege 3500 Tablet PC
I installed V2.50 (build 2000) under Vista Beta 2 (32-bit) with no problems. However, when I try to install it under Vista Beta 2 (x64) I receive a message at the beginning of the installation that the program is not compatible with that version of windows. Of course 32-bit programs are supported under Vista x64.

If you were in the Microsoft Beta program (or the Microsoft Developer Network), you certainly wouldn't think it was "vaporware". Being in beta doesn't preclude a piece of software from being vaporware.

I understand that Vista does not install on VPC yet. The previous builds did but there is a brand new format for the installation files. The current Windows Vista Beta 1 does install on a VPC. You just need to boot the VM with an Windows XP boot CD and format the virtual drive. You can then just eject the XP disk
